Providence Ministries is proud to celebrate the latest graduates of our FoodWorks Culinary Job Training Program, who completed the course on Tuesday, July 7. Congratulations to, Mark Scanlon, Ivelisse Zayas, Raul Matta and Jose Santana! All four participants successfully completed the program and earned their ServSafe Food Handler Certificates, an important credential that prepares them for careers in the food service industry.
In addition to completing the program, Mark Scanlon and Ivelisse Zayas went even further by earning both their ServSafe Allergens Certification and ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to food safety and professional excellence.
The FoodWorks program is about much more than learning culinary skills. It equips participants with industry-recognized certifications, workplace readiness, and the confidence to pursue meaningful employment while building a brighter future.
Reflecting on the class, FoodWorks instructor Jasmine shared:
“If there is one thing that I take great pleasure in, it is that I teach them that the greatest chefs don’t just feed people. They create memories, inspire connection, and pour a piece of their heart into every plate.”
Her words capture the heart of the FoodWorks program—teaching not only the technical skills needed for success, but also the passion, compassion, and dedication that transform cooking into an opportunity to serve others.
Congratulations to Mark, Ivelisse, Raul, and Jose on this outstanding achievement. We are excited to see where their journey takes them and wish them continued success as they begin the next chapter of their careers.
