Providence Ministries is a non-profit organization serving the greater Holyoke, MA  Region since 1980. From its inception, the mission of Providence Ministries has been to assist those most in need in the community by providing life’s basic needs of food, Clothing, and shelter. This mission has evolved to include provision of sober housing for men seeking recovery from alcoholism and substance use disorder as well as men who are experiencing homelessness.

Sr. Margaret McCleary, SP, is the foundress of Providence Ministries, including McCleary Manor, Broderick House, Loreto House, Kate’s Kitchen, Margaret’s Pantry and St. Jude’s Clothing Store. We remain affiliated with, and sponsored by, the Sisters of Providence.

OUR MISSION/VISION

The mission of Providence Ministries is to provide life sustaining and life changing programs to a population that is in need.  From the very beginning of our history, we have seen God’s providential hand working in this organization, and we are excited to see what is before us. Our past is steeped in countless testimonies of success and provision.  Stories of hope, and help. Our mission is to ensure that the future of Providence Ministries holds to the values that made it strong while adapting to the ever changing cultural atmosphere around us.  There are still good people doing good work and we are proud to count ourselves in that company.
