Providence Ministries is grateful to the Rotary Club of Holyoke, South Hadley and Granby for their generous donation of meals to Margaret’s Pantry following their participation in a regional food packaging event aimed at combating food insecurity.

On May 16, 2026, members of the Rotary Club of Holyoke, South Hadley and Granby joined fellow Rotarians from across District 7890 at the Pleasant View Senior Center in East Longmeadow for an “Epic Day of Service” dedicated to helping families facing hunger throughout Western Massachusetts.

Among the volunteers representing the club were Barbara Baran, Marie Sheedy, and Rosanna Lopez. Together with dozens of other Rotary members, they helped package an impressive 25,000 meals—including macaroni and cheese and rice and bean meals—into 116 boxes for distribution to local food pantries.

As part of this effort, Providence Ministries’ Margaret’s Pantry in Holyoke received eight boxes of meals to help support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in our community.

“We were very pleased to be able to donate 8 boxes of meals to Providence Ministries Margaret’s Pantry in Holyoke, helping to feed many families suffering from food insecurity,” said Chassity Crowell Miller, President of the Rotary Club of Holyoke, South Hadley and Granby.

The event not only provided thousands of meals to those in need but also brought together volunteers from across the region in a spirit of service and collaboration.

“It was a wonderful day working with other dedicated Rotarians, knowing that our efforts were going to such a good cause,” said Barbara Baran. “The food packaging program was well organized and well-staffed and we got to make new friends from other clubs.”

The donation reflects the Rotary Club’s ongoing commitment to strengthening local communities through service and compassion. The meals will help Margaret’s Pantry continue its mission of providing nutritious food and hope to neighbors facing difficult circumstances.

On behalf of everyone at Providence Ministries, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club of Holyoke, South Hadley and Granby and all the volunteers who made this impactful day possible. Your generosity and dedication are helping ensure that families in our community have access to the food they need.
