Today’s meal at Kate’s Kitchen was generously sponsored by Holyoke Medical Center, continuing their monthly commitment to nourishing our community. The delicious menu—meatloaf with gravy, sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob—was prepared and served by Jasmine Colon and participants in the Providence Ministries FoodWorks culinary training program.
In addition to sponsoring the meal, Holyoke Medical Center hosted a resource table in the dining room, offering vital health and wellness information. Guests received brochures on preventing and treating frostbite, accessing Primary Care Physicians, applying for SNAP benefits, and obtaining financial assistance. The team also distributed chapstick, hand warmers, and essential toiletries—small items that make a meaningful difference for neighbors in need.
Representing Holyoke Medical Center were Wanda Gomez, RMA, General Surgery Department; Brigitte Stark, Care Team Coordinator; and Ormand Hamilton, Executive Director of Behavioral Health.
When asked why Holyoke Medical Center supports Kate’s Kitchen through monthly meal sponsorship, Wanda shared, “It’s important to give back to the community we serve.”
Brigitte added that community outreach is one of the most fulfilling parts of her role. “People are so welcoming and appreciative of the services we bring. There is an overlap of services in the mental health, addiction, and unhoused community, and it’s great to see familiar faces and help them in any way we can.”
We are deeply grateful for Holyoke Medical Center’s continued partnership and the compassion they show our guests each month.
